Sitecore signs OEM agreement with UK’s leading supplier of online software for financial institutions
Gartner labels Sitecore cool CMS vendor in latest report
London, UK - 29 April – Sitecore , a provider of web content management (CMS) and portal software, today announced it has signed an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) deal with Intelligent Environment (IE), a leading UK supplier of online software for financial institutions. The announcement was made at Internet World, Earls Court, London taking place 29th April to 1st May.
The agreement comes at the end of an eventful month for Sitecore after it was included in Gartner’s Cool Vendors in Content Management, 2008 report published at the start of April.
IE whose customers include four of the top five UK banks, selected Sitecore as a replacement for the interface on their suite of financial applications. Previously IE had been offering customers the ability to change and edit site content themselves using a tool developed in-house. But market demands for ever increasing levels of sophistication and flexibility led IE to seek a specialist content management partner rather than try to continue to enhance their own solution.
“We evaluated a number of content management offerings and were most impressed with Sitecore ,†said Jerry Mulle, sales and marketing director for IE . “In addition to having an outstanding reputation in the market Sitecore also had the flexibility as a company to work with our partnership model which is based on revenues resulting from customer usage rather than large up-front fees.
“This agreement is of major strategic importance as it enables us to focus more on developing further enhancements to our core online software platform,†he added. “At the same time we are able to give our customers a superior content management environment that is more flexible than anything offered by our competitors.â€
“We are delighted that IE has become our first major OEM partner in the UK,†said Simon Bartolo, UK managing director of Sitecore . “Our ability to provide a CMS solution that could also be used as a development environment was a key factor as was our tight integration with the Microsoft .NET development platform.
“For IE’s customers in the banking community the security and authentication features of our product are paramount,†he added. “Our CMS allows them to add in their own security modules and this is further testimony to the modularity and flexibility of the Sitecore software environment.
