Helen Bannigan
Helen Bannigan has close to two decades of experience both in the telecommunications market and in international public relations. At the Commercial Services section of the American Embassy in Portugal, Helen assisted American firms to break into the European marketplace advising them of the subtleties of European business protocol. Helen then co-founded a telecommunications company, GeoLink SA, which became one of the first approved long distance service providers in Portugal. In Spain, Helen joined éclat marketing, a British PR firm specializing in telecoms and technology. As European Project Manager for éclat’s multinational accounts, Helen coordinated pan-European PR campaigns spanning a dozen European countries.
Helen was one of the founding members in 1999 of GRACE, a non-profit association dedicated to heightening awareness of Corporate Philanthropy in Europe. She arranged worldwide pro-bono PR representation for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to raise awareness of world hunger. As a specialist in cross-cultural effectiveness, Helen helps companies to work efficiently across cultural borders.
Currently based in Rome, Helen is responsible for quality-of-service delivery across all PR campaigns; integrating social media, high-level campaign direction and cross-cultural savvy. Coordinating a team of 80 PR professionals working on BondPR campaigns worldwide, Helen oversees the lifecycle of all of BondPR’s clients, ensuring that expectations are communicated and received effectively by all parties, and campaigns are followed through in the most efficient, results-driven manner possible. Helen also drives all Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, are a key component of the international service portfolio.
In additional to her native English tongue, Helen speaks Italian, French and Portuguese, is proficient in Spanish, and is currently learning German. Helen obtained her BA in Political Science from the Catholic University of America and went on to obtain graduate degrees in Paris from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques (International Relations), l’Institut des Hautes Etudes Internationales (International Diplomacy) and la Sorbonne (Foreign Policy Studies). Helen’s media relations expertise has served both B2B and B2C clients, such as Hewlett Packard, AVG Grisoft, the Telemanagement Forum, ICQ, and AMD, and she currently maintains high-level press contacts in all areas of the international media.
